Balancing your Manipura or Solar Plexus Chakra can be achieved through the yoga practice of Revolved Triangle Pose.  Today we learn from Christi Silbaugh, Alek Parkinson, and Brit Labonte on how to achieve this pose during the JuneOYourChakras yoga challenge happening right now on Instagram.

Day 8 – Revolved Triangle for Solar Plexus Chakra

by Christi Silbaugh, Brit Labonte, Alek Parkinson

Manipura which is Sanskrit for City of Jewels is the Chakra located in the area of your navel.  Commonly known as the Solar Plexus Chakra, in the study of yoga, this is the third of your energy centres in the body.

The verb associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra is “I Do”,  as it’s function is about willpower and transformation.  Body systems affected by this chakra include the pancreas, adrenals, digestive system, and muscles.  When this chakra is imbalanced it could lead to health issues such as ulcers, diabetes, and hypoglycemia.

One of the yoga poses used to balance your sparkling Solar Plexus Chakra is the Revolved Triangle Pose or in Sanskrit, Parivritta Trikonasana.  It is great for stretching the outside of the hips, strengthening, and lengthening the back shoulders and neck.

This pose empowers you, gives you energy and makes you feel strong and confident in times that are awkward and confusing.  It allows the sun to shine on you, from you and through you.
